Knowlege of Neoprene on Dog Collars
Hi, this is Abraham, the sales manager of Boonpets.
Neoprene is used a lot on dog leashes, collars and harnesses. Because this material has some great properties that make it ideal for leashes and collars. It is soft and can provide appropriate cushioning and strong protection either to your hands or to the body of your pet.
In this video, we’ll learn more about neoprene.
Neoprene is a family of synthetic rubbers, composed of CR and SBR. The different compositions make it suitable for different applications on diving suits, gloves, sports wear, dog leashes and collars. Neoprene exhibits much better chemical stability and maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range than natural rubber.
Noeprene is produced in large pieces like 1.5m by 3m, in 40-45mm thickness. It is then sliced to any required thicknesses on a slicer. After that, it is made to the required sizes and shapes on a cutting machine or punch machine. So basically the neoprene can be made in any sizes, shapes and thickness. Neoprene on dog leashes and collars are normally in 2mm or 2.5mm thick.
Neoprene is always glued with fabric like lycra, multispandex, nylon and more. They can be glue on one side or both sides of neoprene. On this piece of material, multispandex are glued on both sides. The fabric adds more strength and flexibility as well as colors and patterns. The most used colors on neoprene include red, blue, black and grey, to match the nylon belt. We have over 20 colors in the warehouse of our neoprene supplier.
